Cool bar, good music. Doesn't always have the most laid back environment, but it's never an offensive one either. Steak salad (something like that) is awesome.

I think I have outgrown this place. I remember liking it when I was 23. My guess is that it's ok for college kids or old men after work. I met a friend for lunch the other day and was excited to try it again. I probably won't ever go back. The service was terrible. The bartender was eating or on her phone the entire time. I had to wait for silverware well after my food was delivered. We also waited forever for the check! It was annoying. The food is nothing special. The beer list is awful!! People say the pizza is good. I may stick with that if you end up here.

Our family and another stopped in here for a couple drinks and an app while we waited to get pizza across the street. Service was good and the drinks are on the strong side. Our apps were the average deep fried variety. Everything was good and we had a good time.

Charged 5 dollars for me to make my own Bloody Mary. Then when it finally came was cold with no pita bread with spinach artichoke dip and no cocktail sauce with calamari. Waitress was really rude and it wasn't even that busy. Was walking away while we tried to order food.

Haven't been here in quite a long time. It reminded me of a college bar. As a party of 8 hung out in the front tables. The waitresses were flipping a coin to see who could go home. After 10 minutes and three people that went to the bar to get their own drinks a server shows up. How nice of her to notice us! We stayed for a couple hours and we had to get up and get our own drinks several more times. I don't live by here, so I am sure the kids who come here will keep this place in business!

This place was very good!! The chili cheese fries were awesome!! I got a buffalo chicken sandwich which was good but do not share with the kids because it's hot!! However they have waffle fries which are so good and stuffed with potato! The service was excellent and the wait staff was very prompt and brought everything asked! Will definitely be going back soon

This is truly a great neighborhood bar/restaurant. It seems like its more of a bar than anything at first, but the food is terrific. My favorite are the wings. They cook them perfectly, so the skin is crispy, and the sauce is excellent as well. Their menu is pretty big covering everything from sandwiches and burgers to pizza and even a Mexican section on the menu. I had the fajitas once, liked it a lot. Also had their pizza and it too was very good. It's a great place to watch a game, so many tv's. I'm also happy about the beer selection including many craft beers on tap and in bottles.

Well, I've eaten here several times but lately the food is dynamite. I hosted a business luncheon here and let me tell you, the calimari for a bar was better than most restaurants. They must have changed their crab cakes because these were the real deal and the pizza hello! I couldn't get enough. This is a bar with a great pizza, unreal. My only complaint Mr. Daniels, why don't you deliver? A pizza this good should not be hidden. That's atrocious.

Nikki M.
It's dark, like REALLY dark in there, and they have a reindeer head on the wall. Overall the atmosphere is kind of cool for a bar, and their Sam Adams is pretty cheap. That's where it ends though. The burgers are $8.00 and SO GREASY. My hands were soaked through the bread. Ew. Since their pizza is supposed to be "good", we got the bruschetta pizza as an appetizer. Big mistake. It was essentially flatbread covered with chopped tomatoes, what appeared to be either Bleu Cheese or Gorgonzola, and crappy processed grated Parmesan cheese covering the entire thing. That's it. Not the best quality, and I mean, c'mon- who puts blue cheese on a bruschetta pizza?! I wouldn't go back. Ever.

I would give it 2 1/2 stars if I could. It's nothing over 3 but it's really not a 2 either. It's your basic bar. Good for groups if you get there early so you can get a table. Beer is on the cheap side but everything south seems cheaper compared to the North Side. It's a real Jeans and a T-Shirt type bar. They sell food but I haven't had it. It's a decent spot with a mix crowd of age groups. Some barely 21's and some barely living folks.ha!

Always had a fun time here. Cold beer, mellow clientele, never an issue. Had the burger thought it was good. The wings, though, quite poor. Frozen and reheated. Considering all the wing choices, thought they would step it up a notch. No dice.

I used to hang out here pretty regular some years back. Not too much has changed. Big bar to grab your drinks and have fun, Plenty of tables also available, TVs scattered around to watch your favorite sports team. We were sitting for quite some time and I choose to go to the bar and order. That's when our server finally noticed us. Anyway, good drinks, decent place to hang out. Service used to be better

Nice neighborhood bar with plenty of TV's. There's plenty of room to belly up to this bar and also decent seating in bar area. There's a side room with plenty of seating. The food is better than just your average bar food. They have a very good thin crust pizza and the wings are fab. Daily food specials too. Drinks are inexpensive. Very good service. I haven't had a bad bartender yet!

Stopped here with a group after a prior engagement that we attended. The main bar area was too full to accommodate our group, so we had to sit in the side room. That room has a bad ambience with bright lighting and very barren. Shared a number of appetizers, which were just so-so. Service was extremely slow, we had to repeatedly ask for the same things over & over before eventually getting them. On the up-side, the prices are very reasonable...but even with 7 hungry people we didn't finish our appetizers, they just weren't that good.

I'm finally getting around to posting about this restaurant here on Yelp because I just became a new Yelper recently. Anyway, I have been going to this place for years with my family and I am not sure what happened. I had a family party here back in October for a Christening and it was not a very pleasant experience. I started planning well in advance, so there was no reason for them not to be prepared. I was in contact with the staff prior, made necessary calls about the menu, amount of space, etc. I knew this day was also on a Bears Sunday game, and was told that would not be an issue with overcrowding and so forth. I had to go and basically decorate the room myself, and when I called to see if I could go early to get things in order, I got a runaround from one or two people. I ordered pitchers of beer and wine, and they brought out plastic cups. No wine glasses, which I had to ask for. I had a wide variety of food (which was excellent by the way) and ordered some appetizers. I had a chips and salsa platter that was brought out and set on the tables with no plates, napkins, and so forth. It seemed as if they were short staffed, and were more concerned about the bar area people who were there for the game. Now mind you, I was dropping just as much money here and they were not very attentive to us. More than once did I have to flag down our server to bring us things. It was crammed, uncomfortable and I was just aggravated beyond words. I had family in from Ireland, and this was my first born baby's Baptism party. I wanted it to be special and perfect, and it was far from it. The servers seemed to be more interested in flirting with my younger male family members and not paying attention to what was going on in the room where we were. This is a good place to go if you just want to watch a game, but if you are there for anything else, forget it. Not trying to give this place a bad rap, but do not have a party here. Big waste of money and they went to no great lengths to accommodate. Maybe if we were sitting in the bar area, we would have been more tended to. It's been bothering me for months, so I had to share it on Yelp.

We used to order from here all the time, but tonight was the worst ever. The pizza was so bad the kids wouldn't eat it. It reeked of Parmesan cheese and the sausage was sparse. What happened Joe Daniels, you used to be the best thin crust pizza in Palos. The other food we ordered was just okay not what it used to be.

I really enjoy the thin crust pizza - one of the best is the SW burbs. While all the traditional toppings are great - try the Mexican pizza. It is unique and quite yummy!!!

Should have had the pizza. Terrible service and subpar food. Ordered a burger requesting it to be cut in half. It was partially cut in half, no problem except no silverware was provided. We were sitting at the bar and I still waited five minutes for the bartender to cut my stupid burger so that I could eat it. The burger was just tasteless and unappetizing. I also had the baked French onion soup which was ok. My husband had a chicken sandwich that he reports was "just ok". He did not finish his sand which. The fries where crispy and good. We were here last Saturday around 7pm and only the bar side was open for seating. I commented to my husband how lousy the place was and that's when he informed me of the change in ownership. Unfortunately we won't be going back.

I agree with other posters that it's dark in there! I think that it adds to the ambiance. Plenty of TVs, good beer selection and good food. I've been here several times and the food is consistently good. I really like the brushetta pizza - I've had it several times and never noticed "crappy processed parm. cheese" on it as another posted. Yes it does have blue cheese on it -that is what makes it unique and good. The chicken Cesar wrap is also good: homemade dressing, crisp lettuce and chicken has a slight grilled flavor. My husband enjoys the mini burgers which are always cooked perfectly. Overall a good place to grab a beer some bar food and watch a game.

Went in there today for lunch with a few co-workers, during what was obviously our lunch hour, and sat and waited for service. Nobody even came to give us a menu or say we will be right with you. Literally there was one other table of two in there so it wasn't like they were to busy. So we waited and waited and finally just got up and left. Went next door to Bon a Pit who has the really great, fast service. I'm glad we didn't bother the server because she obviously seemed too busy, oh wait we didn't get a chance to meet her!

I order lunch from Joe Daniels at least 4 times a week. I have my favorites: Thin cracker crust pizza, chicken ceasar wrap, blue cheese burger, great salsa and more... the food is great - very consistent & they are quick in the kitchen. It's a nice neighborhood pub to enjoy a good meal!

Nothing special, but it gets the job done; generally a mix of recently graduated Stagg and Sandburg students with a healthy smattering of older locals with no clear memory of attending high school in the last several decades.

Had a really great time here this weekend! The crowd was very diverse as was the music. It closed a little on the early side for a Saturday (lights when on at 1) but other than that, we had a blast. Would definitely return.

This bar isnt bad. The pizza here is some of the best bar pizza's Ive had. Good atmosphere inside, though it can be a bit crowded if you dont beat the rush on a Friday or Saturday. Big screen TV is a good place to watch a game

This bar is boring. Nice tv's. The dj sucks though. I used to come here a lot and it was just so boring there sitting just watching the tv and having a drink.

Nothing special, but it gets the job done; generally a mix of recently graduated Stagg and Sandburg students with a healthy smattering of older locals with no clear memory of attending high school in the last several decades. Serviceable nachos and a nice reindeer head thingie on the wall behind the bar.

Ever.

(4)Mark K.
Always had a fun time here. Cold beer, mellow clientele, never an issue. Had the burger thought it was good. The wings, though, quite poor. Frozen and reheated. Considering all the wing choices, thought they would step it up a notch. No dice.

(5)Alex R.
Cool bar, good music. Doesn't always have the most laid back environment, but it's never an offensive one either. Steak salad (something like that) is awesome.
